THANK YOU FOR VOLUNTEERING!

Thank you for your interest in being a Little League Volunteer!  The success of a league often depends on the number of devoted volunteers it has. And everyone in the Little League family, no matter how many years they’ve been a part of their local league, should find a way to volunteer, especially ask new parents. Find the role that interests you the most and that you can commit to, and raise your hand. While you’ll find your volunteer work extremely worthwhile and gratifying, it is the Little Leaguers who will benefit the most.

BACKGROUND CHECKS

Background checks need to be completed annually.  Sign up on your league's website as a volunteer.  Once this is done, your information will be sent to JDP to be background checked.  JDP will send you an email to respond to.  Once you have responded to JDP giving them permission, your background check will be completed.  If there is a problem, they will be reaching out to you.

CONCUSSION TRAINING

CONCUSSION TRAINING

All adult volunteers must take the concussion training from Heads Up every 3 years to volunteer with Little League. A training certificate must be submitted to the league before volunteering.

LITTLE LEAGUE DIAMOND LEADER TRAINING PROGRAM

Little League® Diamond Leader Training Program

Focused on ensuring children have a positive, well-rounded experience on and off the field, this program is a FREE educational resource that provides coaches with an understanding of the impact that mental, social, and emotional well-being has in youth sports through detailed information, interactive scenarios, and a variety of additional resources. Over time, Little League will continue to evaluate this course and look to provide additional opportunities for extended learning. A training certificate must be submitted before coaching tournaments.

ABUSE AWARENESS FOR ADULTS

ABUSE AWARENESS FOR ADULTS

Hosted by former Major Leaguer, David Ross, the Abuse Awareness for Adults course provides resources to create a positive and safe environment for all athletes, coaches, parents, umpires, and spectators by understanding how to recognize misconduct and abuse of all types. Topics covered include how to identify and report incidents and what abuse awareness policies should be in place. A free USA Baseball account is required to access the courses. From the 2024 season and ongoing, this is going to be an annual requirement.
